ABOUT ALYSSA Ann
Sportsfishing Montauk since 1971
“We had an awesome day trip with Charlie and crew on the Alyssa Ann. The boat was perfect with plenty of room both inside and out for our group of 6. The crew were also very hands on and provided great instructions to ensure we had a successful haul! They also cleaned and cut the fish we caught so we could put straight on the grill when we got home. I would 100% recommend this as a day trip and we will definitely be back to do it again in the future!” – Alan
Alyssa Ann Sportsfishing was founded in 1971 by Capt. Bill Ricca. For 35 years Capt. Bill built 3 different vessels which were proudly called “Alyssa Ann”. Fishing the waters off Montauk for everything from striped bass to tuna. Capt. Bill lived by the words “there is always something to catch off Montauk” and would always strive to send his customers home with full coolers and smiles on their faces.
At the end of 2006, Capt. Bill passed away unexpectedly. Leaving behind a proud legacy of hard work and bloody decks that we would strive to continue till this day.
Capt. Charlie Mayrer grew up fishing in Montauk since 1988. Between commercial fishing with his grandfather aboard the Carol Dee and working as first mate on the Alyssa Ann. He found his passion for working on the water which led him to attend and graduate from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 2006. Upon graduation, he would begin working on U.S. commercial freighters and merchant vessels as well as become the proud owner and captain of Alyssa Ann Sportfishing.
Since 2006, Capt. Charlie has strived to continue on where Capt. Bill left off with tight lines, bloody decks and memories to last a lifetime. During this time, we built a brand new “Alyssa Ann”. Launching her keel in 2022, she is the 4th vessel to proudly wear the name and continue to make memories and fish the waters off Montauk.
